“You’re a smart man, but just because you’re smart doesn’t mean your brain is all you need to use. However, he appreciated too much Simon’s friendship to go there. As the story progresses, Trevor finds himself more attracted to Simon that he should be. They realize that both of them are a little lost, but when they are together they don’t feel so alone. As they get to know each other they become friends and they realize even if they have so little in common, there are some similarities between them. At first he doesn’t want to hire Trevor, but Trevor is persistent and eventually Simon agrees. Both men are nervous for different reasons and on top of that Simon is kind of an ass with Trevor. Their first meeting is not perfect to say the least. Trevor’s company is one of the many companies who Simon contacts in order to do the job. Trevor and Simon meet when Simon decides to renovate his house. But Simon is too angry to talk to her or with anyone else, pretending that what happened to him doesn’t matter. The only one who was there for him since the accident is his ex-wife, Heather. He’s broken without any family who can’t help him accepting that he is more than a surgeon. His angry with himself and everyone around him, struggling to accept the new reality, because he always wanted to save hearts. Since he was attacked in his home by a burglar who caused him some serious nerve damage he feels depressed and lost. Simon is thirty-seven years old, retired cardio-thoracic surgeon who can no longer perform surgeries. He co-owns with his twin, Blake, a construction company, ‘Rock Solid Construction’. He wants to get his shit together and to prove everyone that he can be trusted and capable to do his job. He tries hard not to fuck-up again and not to disappoint his loved ones. Relapsing meant he could forget, stop feeling, stop remembering. “Relapsing would be a whole hell of a lot easier than staying sober. He stayed out of ‘trouble’ for more than a year being supported by his family, but trying not to revert to his old habits is not easy. Trevor, a 25 years old man, is an ex-alcoholic and drug addict who tries to rebuilt his life and to prove his mother and his twin brother that he can be a good man, that he can’t stay sober, than he is more than a drug addict. It’s a story about acceptance, family, friendship and love. “Rock Solid” is a sweet and emotional story about second chances at life, a story about two men who are struggling to accept who they are and their new lives.
